Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for Admission and Discharge. You will assess patients, admit to appropriate units, and lead discharge planning with education for patients and families.

Responsibilities include complete documentation, coordination with the care team, and prioritizing tasks to ensure smooth transitions from hospital to next care steps. Must hold a BSN and RN license with BLS; ACLS within 6 months is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of nursing program required.
• Active RN license in state of practice.
• BSN degree required and ACLS/BLS certifications as noted.

Responsibilities

• Obtain nursing assessment history and admit patients to units.
• Complete admission and discharge documentation and risk assessments.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about conditions and follow-up.
• Coordinate discharge planning with care team to ensure smooth transitions.
• Prioritize tasks and communicate urgent needs to physicians.
