Job summary

California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services seeks a Research Data Specialist I in the Hazard Mitigation Assessment Unit. You will design geospatial, statistical and qualitative analyses to measure intervention effectiveness and write reports that guide data services and best practices.

The role supports loss avoidance studies, risk assessment, and disaster recovery, coordinating with teams to improve dashboards, data governance and program management.

Qualifications

Knowledge of geospatial software and mapping, spatial analysis and geodatabase management.
Experience with Python, R, and SQL for data processing and analysis.
Ability to create interactive dashboards using Tableau/Power BI and ArcGIS Dashboards.

Responsibilities

Design studies and perform geospatial, statistical, and qualitative analyses to measure program success.
Write reports, recommend applications, and determine data services for loss avoidance and risk assessment.
Develop data creation, preparation and modeling for disaster recovery and mitigation actions.
