Job summary

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is seeking a Community Engagements Lead in Houston, TX. You will plan and execute communications and community engagement for CHARM initiatives, lead a small team, and coordinate events, outreach, and content with internal and external partners.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a relevant field and at least five years of experience in communications, project management, or public engagement. On-site with some travel and evening commitments are possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public affairs, marketing, project management, or a related field.
• At least five years of professional experience in communications, project management, stakeholder engagement, public outreach, marketing, event coordination, or related work.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and executes communications and engagement projects primarily supporting CHARM products and initiatives.
• Turns product and program priorities into project plans, schedules, assignments, and deliverables.
• Creates, edits, and coordinates communications materials, including presentations, reports, briefings, web content, announcements, newsletters, outreach materials, marketing collateral, and event materials.
• Works with writers, designers, product teams, planners, and staff to develop clear written and visual communications.
• Plans and coordinates conferences, exhibits, product demonstrations, webinars, and stakeholder meetings, including logistics and staffing.
• Maintains project schedules and engagement calendars; uses Jira or similar tools to track progress.
• Delivers communications in accessible language for communities, partners, and stakeholders.
• Maintains CHARM web content using WordPress and adheres to branding/accessibility requirements.
• Builds relationships with partners and stakeholders; represents CHARM at events.
• May travel or work evenings as required.
