Job summary

World Central Kitchen seeks a Supply Chain Manager to lead on-the-ground procurement and logistics for rapid food aid delivery to disaster-affected communities. This two-year contract focuses on field leadership, local team building, and crisis-responsive supply chains with a preference for candidates near major airports.

Candidates should have 5+ years in management, ability to operate in austere environments, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or 5+ years of management experience in fast-paced, ever-changing environments.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional languages (Spanish, French, Portuguese) are highly desirable.
  • Ability to spend up to 70% of time in the field and travel frequently.

Responsibilities

  • Activation Management: lead and manage field supply chain teams and respond to disasters within four hours notice.
  • Procurement and Logistics: oversee inventory, sourcing, and local/global logistics to ensure timely delivery.
  • Kitchen Infrastructure: build and maintain field kitchens and coordinate vendor services.
  • Budgeting and Logistics: share cost projections and ensure timely delivery of meals and supplies.
  • Personnel Management and Training: recruit, train, and mentor diverse supply chain teams in activations.
  • Community and Stakeholder Engagement: build relationships with local communities and represent WCK in the field.
  • Quality and Compliance: ensure safety, adherence to WCK standards, and After-Action reporting.
