Job summary

Windward Risk Managers in Boca Raton, FL is seeking a System Administrator to own backup, recovery, and cloud infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments. The role focuses on Veeam, vCenter, and Azure, leading DR planning, runbooks, and failover testing with cross-functional teams to ensure data protection and high availability.

This in-person position requires 5–8 years of hybrid IT experience, hands-on expertise with Veeam and VMware, administrator-level Azure skills, and PowerShell

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of systems administration experience in hybrid environments.
• Hands-on production experience designing and managing Veeam Backup & Replication and VMware vSphere/vCenter.
• Administrator-level experience with Microsoft Azure (resources, access control, storage, cost governance).
• Solid understanding of backup and disaster-recovery concepts including RPO/RTO, replication, snapshots, immutability, and DR testing.
• PowerShell scripting skills; working knowledge of Windows Server and enterprise storage.

Responsibilities

• Lead DR planning, runbooks, and failover testing across data centers and Azure.
• Design, implement, and optimize Veeam Backup & Replication environments and retention policies.
• Administer VMware vSphere/vCenter related to data protection; manage SAN/NAS storage and immutable backups.
• Validate backup integrity through restore testing and automated verification; ensure coverage of critical systems.
