Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a disaster services case manager to provide direct support to survivors and families through advocacy, information and referrals, crisis intervention, and recovery services.

Responsibilities include assessments, developing and monitoring recovery plans, coordinating resources at local, state, and federal levels, and ensuring client records are up-to-date in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Social Work or 3+ years of case management in social services.
Disaster services experience is a plus.
Knowledge of local resources and ability to refer clients effectively.
Ability to work with diverse populations and follow organizational policies.

Responsibilities

conducts thorough needs assessment and develops recovery plans addressing disaster-related unmet needs
provides relevant information and referrals as part of a recovery plan
builds relationships with client families to advocate and direct toward self-sufficiency
assists survivors in determining best short- and long-term recovery actions
develops, implements, and monitors recovery plans to return to pre-disaster well-being
delivers extensive case management and follow-up services
provides crisis intervention for emergencies related to food, shelter, medical, and other needs
utilizes government and community resources to resolve issues and refer appropriately
maintains timely client records and conducts home visits when needed
advocates with other service providers and liaises with internal programs and funding entities
represents The Salvation Army in meetings and events; complies with all policies
performs other duties as assigned
