Job summary

Samaritan's Purse in San Angelo, TX is seeking a Construction Worker to join our Rebuild team. You will help construct and repair homes, lead volunteers, and coordinate with project staff to ensure quality results. This role centers on serving communities while sharing faith in Christ.

The position requires an English-speaking candidate with a heart for service, a one-year certificate, and relevant construction knowledge. CDL and other certifications are preferred; full-time on-site work.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school and six (6) months to one (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to obtain a driver’s medical card (required)
• Trade certifications (electrical, plumbing, roofing, framing, and finish carpentry) (preferred)
• Class A Commercial Driver's License (preferred)
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of residential home construction, from layout and foundation work to final inspection

Responsibilities

• Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
• Work jointly with the Project Superintendent, Construction Foremen, and Logistics Coordinators to construct and/or repair homes in the affected area
• Work with and lead volunteers
• Work with other construction workers and hired subcontractors when needed
• Ensure the quality of each project is maintained to the highest possible standard
• Provide safety training and general project training for team members at the job site and ensure all work is done according to safety standards
• Maintain the security of all materials and equipment at job sites
• Ensure quality and adherence to Samaritan's Purse policies from hired subcontractors
• Inspect all jobs, ensuring work is performed per federal, state, and local laws and codes
• Communicate and minister to homeowners and partners, keeping them informed of the team's work and projected needs
