Job summary

UC Santa Cruz is seeking a part-time Auto Equipment Operator to drive campus vans and ensure safe, courteous service to staff, faculty, and students. The role reports to the Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) team on the UCSC Main Campus and requires operation of vans with a Class C license, wheelchair ramp use, and adherence to DOT guidelines.

The position offers a 16-hour-per-week schedule with variable days and shift coverage, and includes a modest hourly salary with a small shift

Qualifications

• Drive/operate vehicles with a valid Class C license.
• Operate wheelchair ramps and securing systems on applicable vehicles.
• Assist passengers with disabilities and follow DVS policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate and transport passengers while maintaining routes and schedules.
• Perform vehicle inspections and ensure interior/exterior cleanliness per safety procedures.
