Job summary

Horizons Residential Care Center in Rural Hall, NC is seeking a Disability Support Professional I for the third shift. The role is full-time with a comprehensive benefits package and an hourly starting rate of $15, based on experience.

You will assist residents with daily living activities, lead engaging activities, document care, and maintain safety and quality of life. Applicants should be 18+, with a high school diploma or equivalent, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Preferred: pediatric or long-term care experience; CPR/First-Aid/BLS certifications; EMR familiarity; Valid NC driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Be a Care Partner: provide compassionate assistance with daily living activities (dressing, grooming, meals).
  • Facilitate engaging experiences: lead residents in meaningful activities per programs and group experiences.
  • Help build skills: support residents in developing or maintaining abilities and participation in community activities.
  • Be a Positive Role Model: use positive reinforcement with residents and staff.
  • Be a Safety Advocate: follow Horizons' policies to maintain a safe environment.
  • Be a Team Player: communicate effectively with colleagues and support conflict resolution.
  • Be a Problem Solver: handle emergencies and escalate concerns to supervisors.
  • Be a Documentation Specialist: keep accurate, timely care records.

  • Preferred certification in Adult and Pediatric CPR, First-Aid, AED, and BLS
  • Proficient in electronic medical documentation
  • Valid NC driver’s license
