Northwestern Mutual is seeking a DI Finance Consultant to apply accounting, tax, and contract knowledge to disability claims. You will analyze financial records, calculate benefits, and communicate findings to claims professionals, clients, and external partners.

Role emphasizes collaboration, training, and process improvements within the Disability Insurance Claims team, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and contract compliance. A CPA is preferred and some EA consideration may apply.

Competenze

• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting.
• Five+ years of accounting or tax-related experience.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• EA designation may be considered with relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills, including the ability to assess complex or incomplete financial information.
• Ability to train, mentor, and support the development of claims professionals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management tools.

• Provide financial analysis and consultation across DI Claims to develop well-supported conclusions.
• Review personal and business financial records to explain earned income and benefit amounts.
• Explain differences between tax returns and claimant reporting.
