Job summary

DirectShifts is seeking a General Medicine physician to perform VA C&P disability examinations and complete DBQs. The role emphasizes thorough medical record review, comprehensive exam workups, and precise, timely documentation with strict adherence to VA guidelines and HIPAA.

The position offers flexible scheduling options (Full-Time, Part-Time, or PRN) with no on-call responsibilities or ongoing patient management. Licensure and board eligibility in General Medicine are required.

Qualifications

• Board Certified/Board Eligible General Medicine Physician (MD/DO).
• Active, unrestricted MD, DO license.
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
• Experience with disability evaluations, occupational medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, emergency medicine, or primary care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform VA Compensation & Pension (C&P) disability examinations.
• Review Veterans' medical records and relevant documentation before each evaluation.
• Conduct comprehensive General Medicine examinations.
• Accurately complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) and required reports.
• Document findings clearly, objectively, and within established timelines.
• Maintain compliance with VA guidelines, HIPAA, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely completion of evaluations.
