Job summary

The Standard is seeking a Disability Benefits Examiner to investigate and evaluate disability claims to determine eligibility for benefits under policy provisions. You will gather and analyze medical, occupational, and financial information, make claim decisions, and ensure accurate benefit payments.

This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach to delivering timely, empathetic service to claimants and policyholders.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in disability claims, disability benefits administration, insurance claims, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information clearly and professionally.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing documentation and managing claims.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate medical, occupational, and policy information to determine eligibility for disability benefits.
• Obtain and analyze documentation needed to make timely claim decisions and resolve discrepancies.
• Develop and execute claim management strategies that support effective claim resolution and liability management.
• Provide clear, accurate, and responsive communication to claimants, policyholders, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure accurate benefit payments by identifying deductible income and maintaining claim system data.
