Job summary

Strittmatter Companies seeks a Dirt Foreman to lead grading and excavation operations across active construction sites. You will manage field crews, ensure safety, and coordinate with owners, general contractors, and subcontractors to meet project milestones.

This role requires hands-on leadership, experience with GPS-based grading, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds outdoors.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and direct soil/material removal per contract and budget.
  • Supervise crews across various job sites.
  • Read grading plans and drawings accurately.
  • Promote safety and productivity with toolbox talks.
  • Coordinate with owners, GCs, and subs.
  • Utilize GPS grading equipment and project tools.
  • Maintain reporting using MS Office.
  • Be available for weekend work as required.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Dirt Foreman to manage grading and excavation operations across active construction sites. Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and direct removal of soils and materials per contract, budget, and timeline
  • Supervise multiple work activities across various jobsite locations
  • Read and interpret jobsite and grading plans/drawings
  • Manage field crews while emphasizing safety and productivity
  • Conduct Tool-box Talks and promote a safe work culture
  • Work with GPS grading equipment and tools
  • Utilize Microsoft Office for project management and reporting
  • Be available for weekend work as required
Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership capabilities
  • Proficient in the use and operation of heavy equipment
  • Familiarity with GPS-based grading and site layout
  • Able to use company software, tablets, and smartphones
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with owners, general contractors, and subcontractors
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, standing/walking for extended periods, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Requirements
  • Dependable, responsible, and safety-minded
  • OSHA-30 and CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Knowledge of site safety, truck maintenance, and road regulations
  • Experience with dump truck logistics and time management
