Official Job Description:
The Camp is located in Ridley Park PA, about 25 minutes outside of Philadelphia!
Important Information: Ridley Performing Arts Program is currently seeking applicants for the role of MUSIC DIRECTOR for their Summer Junior Production. This production will be for children in 5th-8th grade. All applicants MUST have their PA State Child Abuse Clearances to work with the Ridley Performing Arts Program. The show will take place in July 2025. Rehearsals are currently being planned for afternoon day camp style (3-4 hours).

The camp is July 7th-July 25th, Monday-Friday 1pm-5pm.

Job Duties:
  1. Vocal Coaching:
    • Teach and refine vocal techniques, including breath control, tone, pitch, and diction.
    • Help performers learn and perfect musical selections.
    • Conduct warm-ups and vocal exercises to prepare the cast for rehearsals and performances.
    • Lead music rehearsals, ensuring songs are learned and polished.
    • Collaborate with the director to align vocal performances with the vision of the production.
    • Provide individual support for cast members as needed to address vocal challenges.
  2. Performance Preparation:
    • Ensure vocal consistency and quality throughout technical and dress rehearsals.
    • Work closely with the music director and sound team to balance and enhance live performance sound.
    • Monitor performers’ vocal health and provide guidance to prevent strain.
  3. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Coordinate with the director, choreographer, and music team to integrate vocals seamlessly into the production.
    • Communicate effectively with the cast, offering constructive feedback and encouragement.
    • Document vocal arrangements and notes for future reference.
    • Gather feedback to improve vocal direction processes for upcoming productions.
