Apply today at WorkforGoodSA.org.POSITION SUMMARYThe Director - Workforce Development is responsible for all aspects of leading and managing Goodwill Workforce Development program(s) dedicated to assisting individuals with high barriers to employment increasing life skills, including resilience, foundational skill development, formal career education, and/or training credentials, and career advancement. This strategic leadership position requires an experienced leader in research, ideation, program design, goal setting, and operational supervision, including leading and developing staff, managing budgets, developing procedures and processes, facilitating quality control, and continuous improvement efforts. The Director – Workforce Development must be able to establish a relationship and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including community and educational program partners, to deliver critical program components and achieve the Goodwill mission to Help Change Lives through the Power of Work.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESUpholds and models Goodwill's mission, core values, and servant leadership philosophy.Provide strategic and operational leadership to grow and improve Goodwill workforce development programs, focused on targeted strategies to help improve the education and employment outcomes for individuals with significant life barriers.Oversee staff and functions related to client outreach and recruitment, client assessment, career exploration and planning, career training and education placement, warp-around support services and retention, employer engagement and job placement.Manage daily operations, train and supervise staff, conduct quality reviews and develop measures and tools to drive continuous improvement throughout our workforce programs.Continuously research, develop and implement strategies and recognized best practices to connect individuals with significant life barriers (criminal record, low educational attainment, housing instability, disability, transitioning from military services, etc.) to high-demand careers.Lead annual and long-term strategic planning process, set goals and targets, and plan actions in alignment with Goodwill’s priorities and mission.Be responsible for meeting established goals for our workforce programs, including job placement and retention, career training and education enrollment and completion, foundational skills training attainment, etc.Lead employer engagement strategies to understand the labor market trends, facilitate career opportunities, and ensure our clients are prepared for success in our community's jobs.Lead education provider engagement strategies to understand our local education offering, cost, enrollment process, success factors, outcomes, etc., to help connect our participants with the right education programs to achieve their career and life goals.Foster relationships with the community and various stakeholders, including businesses, education institutions, workforce development partners, and community organizations, to advance Goodwill programs and services.Assist in all areas of program development and evaluation to ensure that programs are effective, efficient, and consistent with the organization’s mission and goals.Develop and ensure appropriate data collection and evaluation to understand our clients, as well as the output and outcomes of our program. Effectively evaluate impact to inform program design and service strategies.Manage budget, and identify and pursue new revenue streams, including grants and fee-for-service model, to improve the program’s financial sustainability.Administer grants, ensuring we meet financial and programmatic obligations.Utilize subject matter expertise and system thinking to work with other community leaders, inform strategies to fight poverty in our community, and position Goodwill as a leader in the cause.To accommodate business needs and objectives, other duties may be assigned by leadership.REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in Human/Social Services, Business, Sociology or related field5 - 7+ years proven success in workforce development/training & development/education/social services program development and implementationExperience developing and leading teams with proven results in achieving measurable outcomes.Additional specific experience as described below:For GCA Oversight - experience in managing accredited vocational schools / training programs / higher education institution a strong plus.For GCC Oversight - Experience managing career centers/ talent acquisition/ and other job placement related operations a strong plus.For Workforce Programs Oversight - experience in career navigation / reentry services / opportunity youth services / grant funded programs a strong plus.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with multiple constituencies to achieve mission goals.Strong analytical, attention to detail, and oral, written, and presentation skills, including advanced skills in MS Office Word, PPT, Excel, and people services databases.Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.Must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage and be able to travel as needed if you drive your vehicle during company business.To learn more about Goodwill San Antonio and to view available positions visit: www.goodwillsa.org.Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled
