Job summary

Strada Education Network seeks a Director of Research focused on work-based learning to lead quantitative studies, design ROI analyses, and translate findings for policymakers and practitioners. You will guide studies using survey data and linked education-workforce datasets, with a commitment to rigor and actionable insights.

Hybrid work in DC/Indiana with leadership responsibilities. You will collaborate across teams, communicate complex results clearly, and mentor researchers while driving

Qualifications

• PhD completed or imminent in a relevant discipline.
• Advanced skills in quantitative methods, including causal inference.
• Experience using administrative and linked education-workforce data.
• Expertise in Stata.
• Experience designing surveys and producing descriptive reports using survey data.
• Strong knowledge of research and innovations in policy and practice in postsecondary education and work-based learning.
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex findings for public audiences.
• Experience managing projects with internal and external partners.
• Knowledge of stakeholder engagement strategies.
• Ability to connect projects to organizational priorities and strategic alignment.

Responsibilities

• Design and pursue a research agenda supporting the work-based learning focus area.
• Conduct rigorous quantitative studies using survey and administrative data.
• Develop primary surveys for multiple stakeholder audiences.
• Perform descriptive and econometric analyses, including causal inference.
• Design ROI, cost-benefit, and cost-effectiveness analyses of interventions.
• Assess impact across student populations, fields of study, and institutions.
• Collaborate with internal/external partners to produce timely research.
• Ensure rigor, transparency, and reproducibility in analyses.
