Dane County in Madison, Wisconsin, is seeking a Director to lead the Department of Waste & Renewables. This full-time managerial role reports to the County Executive and supervises the department, including budgeting, policy development, and cross‑agency coordination.

The Director will oversee waste management, RNG facilities, and recycling programs, driving sustainable solutions and environmental stewardship. WDNR certification must be obtained within 12 months; PE is preferred but not required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Business Administration.
• Five years of progressive experience in solid waste management, including at least two years of management or supervisory experience.

Responsabilidades

• Develops department policies and budgets.
• Oversees personnel, hiring, evaluations, and discipline.
• Coordinates with County Officials and public forums.
• Prepares reports to EPA, DNR, and regulatory agencies.
• Ensures safety and training programs are implemented.
