Job description

The purpose of the Director, Visual Production (DVP) is to provide pastoral and organizational oversight to all visual production staff, contractors, and serving team (volunteer) members. The DVP will collaborate with the Director of Audio Management (DAM) to oversee the financial, strategic, and ministry plans for all media operations across Christ Church campuses. Together, the DVP and DAM will help clarify the vision, target goals, and growth strategies. Along with the Associate Director of Media (ADM), they will support the church's vision to produce innovative, creative, and culturally relevant multimedia that communicates the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Overseeing 5-6 direct reports and managing a total team of 10-15 people to ensure effective visual production for broadcast, livestream, and promos.
  2. Assessing agency and vendor relationships to ensure financial and operational efficiency.
  3. Ensuring technical expertise across all visual production staff, including video editors, broadcast engineers, and camera operators.
  4. Providing leadership in team organization, recruitment, training, and ongoing education.
  5. Collaborating with media leads and other department heads to ensure coverage and scheduling for events and services.
  6. Developing and implementing departmental strategies aligned with the church’s mission and vision.
  7. Working with DAM on financial oversight, metrics, and reporting to the COO.
  8. Building operational capacity and maintaining team health and work-life balance.
  9. Creating organizational charts, defining roles, recruiting, and staff development.
  10. Planning production schedules and researching new technologies.
Specific campus and event responsibilities include:
  1. Ensuring staffing at all campuses and engaging with campus pastors for media needs.
  2. Overseeing stage design, technical run-throughs, and service preparations.
  3. Managing online campus livestream quality, scheduling, and post-production.
  4. Coordinating promotional videos and media for special events well in advance.
  5. Scheduling load-in/load-out and technical rehearsals for events.
Qualifications include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Audio/Video Technology, or related field.
  • 7-10 years in media team management, project development, and broadcast management.
  • 5-7 years in ministry or nonprofit leadership.
Skills required:
  • Strategic planning and organizational infrastructure management.
  • Initiative and independent decision-making.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
