Job summary

Patrick Industries, Inc. in Elkhart, IN, seeks an IT Director, Vendor Management to stand up the Vendor Management Office and lead software/hardware asset management across Patrick IT. You will drive contracting efficiency, vendor rationalization, and spend control within a growing technology organization.

You will oversee policy creation, vendor performance programs, risk management, and alignment with IT strategic pillars to deliver measurable value and cost savings.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT experience across vendor management, sourcing, procurement, or asset management.
• Standing up or maturing a Vendor Management Office (VMO) experience is required.
• Experience with software and hardware asset management practices (SAM & HAM).
• Manufacturing or industrial sector experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and stand up Patrick IT's Vendor Management Office, with charter and staffing plan.
• Establish vendor policies, standards, and lifecycle processes for sourcing, contracting, onboarding, performance, offboarding.
• Build centralized vendor inventory and segmentation to prioritize oversight.
• Define operating rhythm with business reviews, reporting cadence, and escalation paths.
• Lead vendor negotiations and contract structuring with Legal and Procurement.
• Drive contract efficiency, renewal management, and cycle-time reduction.
• Own enterprise vendor rationalization, consolidating or exiting redundant vendors.
• Deliver cost savings through renegotiation, consolidation, and demand management.
• Define vendor performance scorecards, SLAs, and improvement plans for underperformers.
• Establish vendor risk management including financial health, cybersecurity, and business continuity.
• Lead asset management practices (SAM & HAM) and lifecycle optimization.
• Ensure asset data integrity and link asset management with procurement and contracts.
• Support due diligence for M&A and harmonize acquired contracts/assets into VMO.
• Own budgets for vendor management and asset management functions; drive cost optimization.
• Lead teams and develop talent, succession plans, and organizational development.
