In Pfizer Research & Development Digital, we enable our R&D partners to accelerate drug development and clinical trials through digital products and solutions. Within R&D Digital, the Veeva Platform & Services function is responsible for defining the strategy and leading the delivery of the Veeva product suite to end users.

As the VEEVA CoE Operations Director, R&D Digital, you will partner with Service Delivery, Platform Governance, R&D Digital Creation Center, and business users (Regulatory, Clinical, Quality, and others) to enable optimized, seamless delivery, adoption of change, and innovation for the VEEVA Platform Services.

You will lead change management, innovation, roadmap, financials, and reporting for Veeva Development Cloud Applications.

To excel in this role, you should have strong skills in IT service operations management, Cloud software commercial aspects (SoWs, Licenses, etc.), financial management (budgets, planning, CAPEX, OPEX), KPIs reporting, and Risk Management. Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with key Veeva stakeholders, leading change, communication, adoption, innovation prioritization, and roadmaps is essential. Effective relationship skills are crucial for engaging with developers, R&D Digital Leadership, Client Partners, and the R&D business community.

What You Will Achieve

  • Forge and build relationships with key stakeholders within VEEVA CoE, R&D Digital, and business units (Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, etc.).
  • Define program governance framework for management, decision-making, and risk management.
  • Drive adoption of change and innovation with each Veeva Center of Excellence release.
  • Provide operational and strategic oversight to project teams—people, technology, and financial resources—aligning with budgets.
  • Use technical, line, and business knowledge to influence strategic technical delivery and cost savings.
  • Lead services contract negotiations.
  • Coordinate with Veeva Customer Success Managers to enhance product value and adoption.
  • Coordinate Product Management and Support activities.
  • Provide PMO and project management expertise to ensure projects are delivered within scope, budget, and schedule, following Pfizer Digital Lifecycle processes. Manage changes in project parameters with stakeholders.
  • Review projects/programs post-completion to ensure benefits realization.
  • Support global Vault implementations in Clinical, Quality, and Regulatory (RIM) solutions.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, Computer Science, Engineering, or Technology Management (preferred).
  • 8+ years of Project Management experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry, with strong methodologies knowledge.
  • 5+ years in large-scale program management, preferably in pharma.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in business requirements, technical concepts, and processes.
  • Vendor negotiation experience impacting strategic direction and product lines.
  • Awareness of current technology trends.
  • Facilitation, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

Certifications/Training

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Agile Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in relevant fields.
  • Experience establishing and leading an Enterprise Center of Excellence, especially with platforms like Veeva Vault, SAP, Salesforce.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead in a complex, matrix, and geographically dispersed environment.
  • Systematic approach to technical project estimation.

Additional skills include analysis, critical thinking, planning, communication, facilitation, negotiation, and rapid learning. Demonstrated leadership in influencing, coaching, and achieving impactful outcomes.
