Job summary

Google is seeking a Director of User Experience for Android Auto to lead end-to-end UX across OEM partners and internal stakeholders. The role guides teams of designers, writers, and researchers to deliver a cohesive user experience for millions of vehicles worldwide.

As a senior leader, you will define the multi-year UX strategy, build a global cross-functional team, mentor leaders, and advocate AI integration to enhance human-centered design and velocity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of experience managing user experience teams, setting roadmap and direction.
• 10 years of experience in a leadership role interfacing with senior executives.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver the multi-year UX strategy and product vision for high-quality Android In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems.
• Deliver all Partner programs with automotive OEMs and build relationships with external partners to drive goals.
• Build and manage a global, multi-disciplinary team of UX designers, writers, and researchers; mentor leaders.

• Experience in cross-team collaboration and working in a multi-disciplinary team.

• Define and deliver the multi-year UX strategy and product vision for high-quality, compatible, and updateable Android In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems, applying thought leadership to solve complex, multi-dimensional business problems.
• Deliver all Partner programs with automotive OEMs. Build and nurture trusted, collaborative relationships with external partner executives, business development, and internal cross-functional leaders to drive strategic business goals and resolve escalations.
• Build and manage a global, multi-disciplinary team of UX designers, technical writers, and researchers. Mentor, coach, and grow leaders within the organization while cultivating a culture of continuous improvement and craft excellence.
• Advocate for AI product integration and lead AI adoption across the UX organization. Integrate AI workflows to augment the design process and drive organizational velocity, while doubling down on human-centered value and creative problem-solving.
