West Monroe is seeking a seasoned consulting leader with deep energy and utilities experience to lead and grow our national E&U practice focused on regulatory advisory services to enable the energy transition. Key services include:

  • Regulatory strategy for policy and ratemaking
  • Revenue requirements modeling
  • Regulatory accounting principles and best practices
  • Rate design and modeling
  • Business case analysis for investment justification
  • Expert testimony development and witness services
  • Program management for regulatory proceedings
  • Regulatory affairs and stakeholder engagement

As a Director, you will work with our Regulatory Advisory team to build, retain, and grow the business. Responsibilities include developing new business, managing client relationships at the executive level, and providing leadership and oversight to project teams. The role requires a passion for the work and an entrepreneurial spirit.

What You Will Be Doing:
Business Development
  • Develop and manage client opportunities within the E&U practice
  • Lead proposal development, work planning, and risk assessment
  • Network within the Energy & Utilities community
Client Delivery
  • Lead and mentor project teams serving utility clients
  • Manage project risks and client relationships, including C-level engagement
  • Provide expert witness support as needed
Practice Development
  • Define office culture and strategic direction
  • Enhance capabilities and methodologies
  • Lead recruitment, coaching, and team growth
Qualifications:
  • Deep knowledge and experience with regulation of US transmission and distribution utilities
  • Minimum 10 years in the Energy & Utilities industry and 5+ years in regulatory matters
  • At least 3 years consulting experience; Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or JD preferred
  • Experience as an expert witness is a plus
  • Strong leadership, client development, and project management skills
  • Active professional network in utility regulation
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion

This role can be remote or based near one of our regional hubs, with travel as needed. Salary ranges vary by location, with comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401k, bonuses, flexible time off, and parental leave.
