Job summary

Lundbeck seeks a Director, U.S. Patient Advocacy Liaison to lead the patient engagement strategy and partnerships across the U.S. You will guide PAL function, establish priorities, and collaborate with Corporate Affairs, Medical Affairs, HEOR, and Clinical Development to align patient perspectives with business strategy.

You will oversee insights collection, develop engagement plans, and manage funding and events while ensuring compliance with FDA regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Accredited bachelor's degree.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in patient advocacy, patient engagement, external affairs, medical affairs, corporate affairs, market access or related healthcare roles.
  • People leadership experience including coaching, performance management and development of direct reports.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented leader with commitment to patient-centered decision-making.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing patient engagement or advocacy strategies in biopharmaceutical or nonprofit sectors.
  • Proven success building and managing strategic relationships with national and regional patient advocacy organizations and other external stakeholders.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior leaders across Medical Affairs, Commercial, Market Access, Corporate Affairs and other functions.
  • Strong strategic planning, project management, and operational execution skills including KPI measurement.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and executive influence skills.
  • Ability to translate patient insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare compliance, including FDA regulations, PhRMA Code, Sunshine Act, and internal policies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the annual U.S. patient engagement strategy with KPIs and RoE measures.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Patient Engagement Liaison(s) and ensure engagement standards.
  • Directly manage a portfolio of strategic patient advocacy organizations and senior relationships.
  • Oversee collection and translation of patient and caregiver insights into advocacy strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align activities with enterprise priorities.
  • Plan and manage patient advocacy conferences, roundtables, and events with defined objectives.
  • Monitor performance via KPIs and RoE; drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversee patient advocacy funding and investments within budget and governance constraints.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
