Job summary

Anthropic, based in San Francisco, seeks an International Tax Director to lead US international tax planning, model building, and post‑acquisition integration. You will advise on subpart F, BEAT, and cross-border structures, partnering with Legal, Treasury, and Accounting to implement complex tax positions.

You will draft technical memoranda, oversee external advisors, and drive the company’s international tax strategy as it scales globally.

Qualifications

• Have deep technical knowledge of the US international tax provisions and apply them in planning contexts.
• Understand subchapter C as it applies to multinational groups and related concepts.
• Led tax planning projects end to end from scoping to implementation.
• Connect planning positions to transfer pricing, ASC 740, and international compliance forms.
• Ability to research Code/regulations and write clear memos; review others' tax models.
• Experience supervising outside advisors, budgeting, and delivering results.

Responsibilities

• Lead US international tax planning projects from analysis through implementation.
• Analyze international tax consequences of new entities, jurisdictions, and intercompany funding.
• Perform technical analysis under subpart F, NCTI, BEAT, and foreign tax credit rules.
• Apply subchapter C to formations, distributions, and reorganizations; analyze E&P and stock basis.
• Define model assumptions and scenarios; review models for accuracy and conclusions.
• Support post‑close integration with acquired entities and planning steps.
• Draft memoranda and maintain documentation supporting planning positions.
• Coordinate with compliance and transfer pricing; review international filings.
• Manage external advisors; track regulatory developments for Anthropic.
