About The Role

The Director, Treasury & Tax will establish treasury operations, banking governance, lender reporting, and cash forecasting for a growing software business. This is a hands-on role that focuses primarily on treasury while serving as the internal liaison for tax matters and our external tax advisors. You will work with Accounting, FP&A, and executive leadership to give the company clear control and visibility over cash, banking, and debt. The ideal candidate is an organized, detail-oriented treasury professional who brings a continuous-improvement mindset and is comfortable working independently in a lean high-growth environment.

What You'll Do

  • Build accurate cash forecasting and liquidity planning, along with treasury reporting, so leadership can make funding decisions with confidence.
  • Administer debt and lending facilities, monitor covenants, and build lender reporting and compliance processes that are ready for upcoming requirements.
  • Manage multi-bank relationships, and identify opportunities to consolidate banks, reduce fees, and improve treasury efficiency.
  • Develop and implement treasury policies, controls, and governance structures, including internal control design and documentation.
  • Build financial models for scenario planning, debt refinancing, capital structure, and interest rate strategy, and share the findings with the CFO and leadership.
  • Manage intercompany funds and foreign exchange exposure as the business grows, working with Accounting to keep records accurate.
  • Serve as the internal point person for external tax advisors, and manage routine tax activities, including sales and state tax filings.
  • Identify process inefficiencies in treasury operations and implement improvements that reduce manual work and improve follow-through.
Required Qualifications
  • Progressive treasury experience from analyst through manager or director level.
  • Big 4 audit experience
  • Expertise in cash management, cash forecasting, and liquidity planning.
  • Experience managing banking relationships and administering debt and lending facilities, including covenant monitoring and compliance reporting.
  • Financial modeling experience, including scenario planning and forecasting.
  • Experience with treasury operations and controls, including policy development and control design.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through, with the ability to work independently in a high-growth environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • International banking and foreign exchange management experience.
  • Working capital optimization experience.
  • Experience with debt refinancing analysis, capital structure analysis, and interest rate strategy.
  • General corporate tax knowledge and familiarity with sales and state tax filings; tax expertise is helpful but not required.

In your first 6-12 months, success in this role will look like:

  • You have established control and visibility across all banking relationships, with treasury policies, controls, and governance structures in place.
  • Lender reporting processes are built, and the company is ready for upcoming compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Bank accounts, signatories, and cash management processes are organized and running efficiently, and you have identified ways to consolidate banks and reduce fees.
  • You have delivered accurate cash forecasting and treasury reporting, and you serve as the trusted point person for external tax advisors while managing routine tax activities.
