What You’ll Do:
As a member on our consulting team, you will serve as a trusted advisor to financial institutions, helping them formulate strategies, optimize operations, and enhance bottom‑line results. From day one, you will play a critical, client‑facing role across all facets of advisory engagements.
You can expect to work across a wide range of client profiles and project types, from helping a $2 billion community bank redesign its treasury product suite and pricing model to partnering with a $15 billion institution to define their target operating model.
Core responsibilities span four areas:
Client Advisory & Delivery:
- Lead treasury management consulting engagements for bank and credit union clients.
- Advise on treasury product strategy, pricing, sales effectiveness, and service delivery models.
- Assess and optimize commercial banking operations, including cash management, liquidity solutions, and payments modernization.
- Deliver data‑driven insights using Cornerstone’s proprietary research and benchmarking tools.
Business Development:
- Build and nurture long‑term client relationships and develop a visible personal brand in the treasury management space.
- Identify and develop new client opportunities, partnering with internal teams to expand Cornerstone’s advisory footprint.
- Contribute to proposal development, client presentations, and thought leadership.
Thought Leadership & Industry Expertise:
- Serve as a subject matter expert in treasury management, staying ahead of regulatory, competitive, and technology trends.
- Contribute to white papers, webinars, and industry events that build Cornerstone’s presence in the market.
- Mentor and support junior consultants and project teams.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with technology, strategy, and M&A advisory teams.
- Foster a high‑performance, client‑focused culture.
What You’ll Bring:
Professional Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in treasury management or commercial banking with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
- Deep expertise in treasury services, including cash management, liquidity solutions, and commercial payments.
- Management consulting experience is a plus but not required.
Skills & Expertise:
- Strong understanding of treasury and commercial banking trends, competitive dynamics, and technology providers.
- Excellent project and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and experience presenting to senior executives.
- Proficiency with data analysis and deriving insights to inform business decisions.
- High degree of competency with Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
- Demonstrated business development and client relationship management skills.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related quantitative field.
- An advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus but not required.
