Job description

Do you have deep Compensation and HR Systems experience and want the opportunity to build and scale a Total Rewards and HR Systems function during a period of significant growth? This could be the job for you!

Our client, a fast-growing national organization, is searching for a Head of Total Rewards & HR Systems to build an integrated compensation, benefits, payroll, HR systems, and people analytics function that can scale with the business.

Reporting directly to a dynamic CHRO, this is a highly visible leadership role for someone who knows how to build while executing, creating the strategy, programs, technology, processes, reporting, and team while continuing to meet the needs of a rapidly growing organization.

Compensation and HRIS implementation experience are critical for this role. This leader will have the opportunity to build a more sophisticated compensation framework while also owning the HR technology ecosystem and leading the implementation and optimization of HR systems.

What You'll Do
  • Build and execute an enterprise-wide Total Rewards strategy and philosophy aligned with the company's growth plans
  • Build and scale the Compensation function, including job architecture, leveling, salary structures, market pricing, incentive programs, and annual compensation planning
  • Own the HRIS and broader HR technology ecosystem, including the selection, implementation, integration, and optimization of HR systems
  • Build scalable processes, reporting, dashboards, and analytics to provide leadership with accurate workforce and cost data
  • Lead benefits, retirement, and payroll strategy and operations
  • Partner with senior leadership on executive compensation and long-term incentive programs
  • Drive automation, process standardization, and improved employee and manager experiences through technology
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Total Rewards, Payroll, and HR Systems team
  • Partner closely with Finance on headcount, labor cost forecasting, budgeting, and workforce planning
  • Lead Total Rewards and HRIS integration through M&A, new market expansion, and continued organizational growth
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CHRO and senior leadership on compensation, rewards, workforce analytics, and market trends
What We’re Looking For
  • 10+ years of progressive Total Rewards experience, including leadership responsibility
  • Deep expertise in Compensation design: job architecture, salary structures, incentive plans, market pricing, and compensation planning
  • Demonstrated experience building or significantly scaling a Compensation/Total Rewards function
  • Hands-on experience leading or playing a significant role in HRIS implementations and integrations
  • Experience building scalable HR systems, processes, reporting, and analytics
  • Experience overseeing benefits and multi-state payroll operations
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to partner with C-suite and senior business leaders
  • Experience leading and developing teams
Highly Preferred

Experience supporting a high-growth, multi-site or geographically dispersed organization, along with M&A/integration experience, is highly valued. Experience in a private equity-backed or investor-owned organization is also a plus.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a Total Rewards/HR Systems leader who wants to build something — not simply inherit and maintain an existing function.
