For one of our clients, we are looking for a Director, Thought Leader Liaisons, remotely from the United States.

As a Director, Thought Leader Liaisons, you will lead a team responsible for engaging with key thought leaders in the field of nephrology, with a particular focus on rare kidney diseases. You will provide strategic direction, develop high-impact initiatives, and ensure seamless cross-functional collaboration with marketing, sales, patient advocacy, and medical affairs teams. This role requires a strong leadership mindset, the ability to mentor a high-performing team, and the expertise to drive advocacy efforts that enhance brand positioning and commercial success.

Accountabilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Thought Leader Liaisons (TLLs), ensuring alignment with overall marketing and commercial strategies.
• Drive key engagement initiatives with top Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), strengthening relationships through strategic interactions and insights gathering.
• Oversee the execution of thought leader programs, including advisory boards, speaker programs, and key institutional partnerships.
• Track brand sentiment among KOLs, ensuring continuous optimization of advocacy efforts.
• Partner with internal teams, including medical affairs, market access, and sales, to ensure cross-functional collaboration and strategic alignment.
• Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to adapt engagement strategies accordingly.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, life sciences, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA, MA) is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of commercial experience in specialty or rare disease marketing, with at least 3 years in a TLL or similar role.
• Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop remote teams effectively.
• Strong understanding of nephrology and rare kidney diseases, with expertise in engaging and building relationships with KOLs.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• Willingness to travel up to 50-60% domestically, including field visits and weekend engagements as needed.
