06 Valley Physician Services seeks an accomplished Director of Thoracic Surgery to join Valley-Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care. The position requires expertise in minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques and involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team for a broad case mix.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to clinical innovation and leadership, teaching roles in residency programs, and an academic appointment opportunity at the Icahn School of Medicine.

The role offers a competitive salary range of $550K to $600K along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must possess MD or DO degree.
• Board eligibility or certification in General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery required.
• Eligibility for New Jersey Medical License is necessary.
• DEA and CDS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Director of Thoracic Surgery.
• Lead a team of specialists in a comprehensive cancer care setting.
• Engage in academic duties as part of residency and fellowship programs.

Position Description

Valley Medical Group and The Valley Hospital seek an accomplished and visionary thoracic surgeon to serve as Director, Thoracic Surgery, at Valley-Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care. The ideal candidate will combine technical excellence, including minimally invasive and robotic surgical skills, with compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to advancing the field through leadership, education, and clinical innovation in a dynamic and supportive environment. Valley holds longstanding accreditation from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons and has a strong regional reputation for excellence in multidisciplinary cancer care. The Director will collaborate with an outstanding team of pulmonologists, medical and radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and critical care specialists. The practice offers a broad case mix including lung cancer, esophageal cancer, mediastinal disease, and foregut disorders. Valley has a robust clinical trials infrastructure, and ongoing clinical trials for patients with thoracic diseases. This position includes serving as a faculty member in Valley’s General Surgery Residency Program and Valley’s Advanced GI Fellowship Program. Academic appointment to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai of Mount Sinai is available for appropriate candidates.
