Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. Some remote opportunities are available within specific departments. There are also roles that require being on-site full time. You’ll learn more about this during the application process.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the safety, operational readiness, and show quality of area assigned. Ensure the rides and attractions are compliant with all governing bodies. Interface with UPR and other Universal parks for conformance to internal standards. Additional responsibilities will include financial, TSAT, RCM, safety training, and development of team they support. Also may be assigned additional departments like Central Shops, Show Systems, Warehouse, and RCM.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ride Safety and Compliance with all governing bodies of area assigned. Align with UPR requirements and all other Universal parks for strategic execution. Ensure all ride maintenance policies and procedures are in compliance with all governing bodies and internal requirements. Review and approve all ECN’s and DCN’s for area of responsibility.
  • Lead all GSAT strategic initiatives for downtime reduction and superior operational readiness performance of attractions. Set strategic direction for engineering team so they are working on the most important issues first.
  • Financial responsibility. Ensure attractions are kept on budget and overtime is kept to a minimum. Routinely and regularly manage capital requests and execution of approved capital projects. Make sure all capital needs are input into the system and priority reviewed regularly.
  • TSAT, employee safety, training and EHS compliance are always the highest priority. Make sure the teams are working within compliance and are current on trainings on all proper safety compliance and regulations. Make sure all team members are always up to date on their safety training.
  • Lead the RCM initiatives in your area of responsibility and be the champion of your team. Make sure the team is practicing and living the RCM mantra. Make a proactive world class maintenance organization in your area.
  • Support growth and development of your team and ensure all of the team is properly training for all work activities and proper managing of team members. Work hand in hand with all directors within UO and attend all pertinent Director Meetings. Attend regular downtime and passdown meetings to ensure the team is addressing all issues regularly. Address show quality items timely to ensure superior show quality.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering is required.

EXPERIENCE: 12+ years in ride maintenance field or equivalent with significant experience in safety, maintenance, and inspection of critical equipment required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: NAARSO certification of Level 1 is a must, as well as Affiliation with ASTM as a member in good standing preferred. Involvement in trade specific organizations (i.e. American Society for Quality and National Fluid Power Society, as well as others) a plus. Affiliation with NAARSO or AIMS required for this position.
