Job summary

Google Cloud AI organization is seeking a senior Technical Program Manager to lead a scalable TPM team and oversee GPU/TPU resource strategy. You will partner with executives, engineering, and product managers to align priorities and drive AI hardware deployment across the Vertex fleet.

The role focuses on capacity planning, utilization, and improving deployment efficiency, with opportunities to shape AI workflows and enterprise solutions globally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience managing technical projects, with experience in cloud or AI-driven industries.
  • 10 years of experience leading teams within technical program management or engineering management or equivalent roles.
  • Experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models, Agents, and AI Workflow tools.
  • Experience leading capacity, utilization, efficiency, and model deployment efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire, and build a healthy and scalable organization of Technical Program Managers.
  • Partner with senior leadership, engineering, and product managers to align priorities.
  • Oversee acquisition, preparation, and lifecycle management of GPU and TPU resources.
  • Lead supply management for hardware types and integrate within the Vertex fleet.
  • Drive allocation and resource utilization strategies to maximize fleet impact.

Job description

In accordance with Washington state law, we are highlighting our comprehensive benefits package, which is available to all eligible US based employees. Benefits for this role include:

  • Paid Time Off: 20 days of vacation per year, accruing at a rate of 6.15 hours per pay period for the first five years of employment
  • Sick Time: 40 hours/year (increased to 69 hours/year for Seattle) including 5 discretionary sick days per instance
  • Maternity Leave (Short-Term Disability + Baby Bonding): 28-30 weeks
  • Baby Bonding Leave: 18 weeks
  • Holidays: 13 paid days per year

Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience managing technical projects, with experience in cloud or AI-driven industries.
  • 10 years of experience leading teams within technical program management or engineering management or equivalent roles.
  • Experience with the domain area of Generative AI, Large Language Models, Agents, and AI Workflow tools.
  • Experience leading capacity, utilization, efficiency, and model deployment efforts.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with enterprise programs and cloud technologies.
  • Comfort with changing specifications or standards, and experience creating the conditions in which the team feels comfortable and capable of working through in response to ambiguity.
  • Technical expertise in systems and software with the leadership skills needed to influence technical leaders across the company.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries, build relationships, and import and export talent and ideas to achieve a broader organizational goal.
  • Excellent problem solving, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills that drive executional impact at scale.

  • Oversee the acquisition, preparation, and lifecycle management of GPU and TPU resources across multiple supply channels.
  • Lead supply management for established and emerging hardware types, coordinating strategic integration within the Vertex fleet.
  • Drive allocation and resource utilization strategies to maximize fleet impact while balancing operational efficiency.
