Job summary

Alcoa, a global leader in aluminum, invites you to join its Corporate Controllership team in Pittsburgh as a senior accounting leader. You will drive complex accounting initiatives, support strategic transactions including M&A, and partner with Finance, Strategy, Tax, Legal, Treasury, and Commercial teams to shape global financial decisions.

You will review and document accounting positions, present topics to senior management, and guide external reporting, ensuring accuracy across 10-Q/10-K

Qualifications

• CPA certification required
• Thorough knowledge of US GAAP, including SEC reporting requirements
• 12+ years of accounting experience
• Minimum 4 years of experience in public accounting or external reporting in a publicly traded manufacturing company

Responsibilities

• Lead complex accounting initiatives and strategic transactions including M&A and divestitures
• Partner with leaders across Finance, Strategy, Tax, Legal, Treasury, and Commercial teams
• Manage SEC reporting considerations and extensive financial statement reviews
• Analyze monthly and quarterly financial results and summarize insights for senior management
• Prepare and review earnings communications to the Audit Committee and SEC filings
• Lead longer-term strategic projects

About the role:

Join Alcoa’s Corporate Controllership team in a high-impact leadership role with visibility to senior executives and influence across a global organization. As an in-house technical accounting subject-matter expert, you'll lead complex accounting initiatives, support strategic transactions including M&A and divestitures, and partner with leaders across Finance, Strategy, Tax, Legal, Treasury, and Commercial teams.

This is a unique opportunity to combine technical accounting expertise, strategic problem-solving, and cross-functional leadership while helping shape key business decisions at one of the world's leading aluminum companies.

• Utilize strategic thinking to resolve complex global accounting issues and financial transactions including complex commercial contracts, treasury arrangements, restructuring, currency valuation, and other complex matters.
• Manage documentation of accounting positions for review by management and auditors; present complex accounting topics to senior management.
• Manage accounting and SEC reporting considerations for complex transactions by reviewing financial information and identifying financial impact of transaction terms, pricing and legal commitments; work closely with Strategy, Corporate Development, Transformation and Tax teams in evaluating the accounting impact of potential transactions.
• Analyze monthly and quarterly segment, legal entity and operations level financial results and summarize analysis for senior financial management.
• Assist in preparation and review of quarterly communications on earnings results to the Company’s Audit Committee and periodic SEC filings.
• Assist in the review of consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules and disclosures for 10-Q / 10-K filings with the SEC.
• Lead longer-term strategic projects.

About you:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• CPA certification required
• Thorough knowledge of US GAAP, including SEC reporting requirements
• 12+ years of accounting experience, and one of the following:
• Minimum 4 years of experience in public accounting
• Minimum 4 years of experience within an external reporting team of a publicly traded manufacturing company
