Job description
Overview

Babylist is the leading registry, e-commerce, and content platform for growing families. With millions of shoppers and a growing ecosystem including the Babylist Shop, Babylist Health, and a flagship showroom in Los Angeles, Babylist partners with hundreds of brands to engage with families during a key life transition. The company is focused on delivering confidence, connection, and care to new parents and their loved ones, supported by a substantial scale in GMV and revenue.

Our Ways of Working: Babylist is remote-first with HQ team members across the U.S. and Canada. We meet in person twice a year—once as a company and once by department—to strengthen relationships. We work with intent, stay purpose-driven, and achieve results together from anywhere.

This role requires travel, likely once a month, to supply chain and fulfillment locations including 3PL partners, our Columbus, Ohio facility, headquarters, and other vendor sites as needed.

The Role

At Babylist, we exist to serve new and expecting parents. We help them make confident decisions, connect with their community, and feel truly ready for their new family member. As we scale rapidly, we’re seeking a proven supply chain executive to shape how we deliver joy, trust, and care to millions of families in the months and years ahead.

Director of Supply Chain Strategy will own the 6–18 month strategic horizon for Babylist’s fulfillment, transportation, logistics, and continuous improvement network. This role bridges near-term operational execution (0–6 months) and long-term enterprise design (18+ months), building foundational blocks to sustain 20–30% annual growth while driving measurable results today. You’ll partner with our Director of Operations and our SVP of Supply Chain to align all time horizons into a unified, scalable growth plan.

This is a highly hands-on, impact-oriented role. You’ll combine strategic foresight with a practical mindset, rolling up your sleeves in operations while building a roadmap to scale our network, enhance customer experience, and drive cost efficiency.

Who You Are
  • A senior operations strategy executive with 15+ years in supply chain, fulfillment, and logistics, skilled at scaling e-commerce fulfillment and multi-node distribution in growth environments
  • 10+ years leading large teams and managing complex operations across internal and third-party facilities, including 5+ years at Director level or above
  • Experience translating long-term vision into 6–18 month roadmaps and building foundational capabilities for future scale
  • A proven people leader who develops talent, sets high standards, and leads through change
  • Proficient in Lean, Six Sigma, process design, and value stream mapping; committed to embedding continuous improvement into supply chain culture
  • Strong understanding of fulfillment technology systems (WMS, TMS, OMS), automation, and AI-enabled analytics
  • Skilled in P&L management, cost modeling, and building investment cases to optimize unit economics
  • Collaborative with peers across Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Merchandising
  • Empathetic, mission-aligned operator who leads with humility and accountability
  • Experience opening a new fulfillment center, including site selection, ramp-up, and launch is a plus
How You Will Make An Impact
  • Own the 6–18 Month Roadmap: build and execute the mid-term supply chain strategy that connects current capabilities to long-term growth
  • Lay the Foundation for Scale: design and implement capacity planning, facility strategy, automation, systems, and network optimization for future expansion
  • Partner Across Time Horizons: collaborate with the Director of Operations (0–6 months) and SVP of Supply Chain (18+ months) for strategic continuity
  • Architect the Future Network: shape the evolution of internal fulfillment, 3PL partnerships, transportation, and delivery optimization
  • Elevate Customer Experience: ensure orders are delivered with care, speed, and reliability
  • Lead Strategic Initiatives: drive planning and execution for capacity growth, automation, system upgrades, and tech-enabled improvements
  • Develop Performance KPIs: define metrics aligning service levels with financial performance
  • Embed Continuous Improvement: oversee and guide the Continuous Improvement function
  • Influence Investment & Direction: build business cases and partner on capital allocation and cost optimization
  • Build a High-Performing Team: attract, develop, and lead a team that embodies Babylist values
  • Champion Our Values: deliver with care, prioritize what matters, communicate proactively, own outcomes
Why You Will Love Working At Babylist
  • We invest in the infrastructure you’ll need to be supported and successful
  • We build products that have a positive impact on millions of people’s lives
  • We work at a sustainable pace with real work/life balance
  • We believe technology and data can solve hard problems
  • AI plays a meaningful role in how we work, create, and scale

  • We offer competitive pay and meaningful opportunities for career advancement
  • We have strong benefits including company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k with company match, and paid leave
