Job summary

QuantumScape is seeking a Director, Supplier Quality to own the end-to-end supplier quality function from selection to PPAP and ongoing performance. You will partner with Manufacturing Operations and Supply Chain to shift quality left and reduce defects at the source.

The role requires 12+ years in regulated, high-volume manufacturing with strong leadership in supplier quality and a proven lean approach. Onsite work is required; a comprehensive compensation package includes bonus and RSU/Equity.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• MS or MBA preferred.
• ASQ CQE / CQA / Lead Auditor / Six Sigma certifications preferred.
• Experience in regulated, high-volume manufacturing with supplier quality focus.
• Strong cross-functional communication and leadership to drive quality upstream.

Responsibilities

• Own supplier quality end-to-end: qualification, PFMEA, APQP/PPAP, audits, scorecards, and 8D management.
• Set and improve IQC strategy and dock-to-stock qualifications to retire excess inspection.
• Embed supplier development engineers at key suppliers to drive APQP/PPAP at the source.
• Drive quality left: define defect criteria and acceptance requirements with partners.
• Apply lean, waste-elimination discipline across suppliers to reduce scrap and rework.
• Lead upstream particle and contamination control at the source for solid-state manufacturing.
• Ensure seamless quality handoffs with manufacturing partners during scale-up.
• Partner with Supply Chain to prioritize quality in supplier selection and sourcing.
• Establish supplier quality metrics linked to yield and outputs.
• Build and lead a high-performing supplier quality team.
