Brown University seeks a Director of Student Accessibility Services to lead a busy, campus-wide accessibility program. You will guide policy, oversee data management modernization, and partner with faculty and staff to ensure compliant, equitable student experiences across undergraduate, graduate, and medical programs.

Student Accessibility Services (SAS) at Brown University is responsible for the provision of disability services for all students in the University’s undergraduate, graduate, and medical programs. SAS partners closely with students to identify and implement accommodations that allow for their full participation in Brown’s rigorous academic and vibrant university community. As the Director of Student Accessibility Services (SAS) within the Division of Campus Life, Brown’s leader in this highly visible role is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the student experience are accessible, equitable, and inclusive.
The Director provides leadership and vision for a broadly collaborative department that serves a diverse student population of over 10,000 students and collaborates with hundreds of faculty and staff regarding curricular and environmental accessibility.
The Director must be exceedingly well‑versed in national trends, Section 504, the ADA, and other federal and state requirements pertaining to student accessibility.
A primary focus of this role is the modernization of SAS data management and systems administration.
The Director oversees the implementation and maintenance of updated data management tools to improve data integrity and streamline the interactive process, thereby enhancing the student experience.
By centralizing data systems and utilizing quantitative metrics, the Director is responsible for reducing delays between initial requests and final determinations, ensuring timely care and mitigating institutional risk.
Through careful stewardship of SAS resources and staff, the Director leads continuous improvement efforts and develops evidence‑based policies and protocols that document the University’s excellence in meeting regulatory and compliance obligations.
