Job summary

Fitch Ratings, a global credit ratings agency, seeks a Director in Chicago to join Structured Credit & CLOs. Lead a team of analysts, drive ratings work, and deliver timely research and commentary.

A collaborative, high-impact role in a hybrid environment with opportunities for visibility in global markets. Requires a quantitative degree and 8+ years in structured finance, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (finance, economics, engineering, etc.).
• At least eight years of experience, preferably in structured finance, with leadership of teams.
• Strong analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and attention to detail.
• Ability to listen and build consensus in a collaborative setting.
• High level of personal responsibility, initiative and self-management.
• Deep interest in capital markets and structured finance.
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis of new and existing ratings using proprietary models.
• Assess transaction documents focusing on credit risk identification and mitigation.
• Prepare, present, and defend rating conclusions to senior credit committees.
• Oversee drafting of rating action commentary to communicate decisions clearly.
• Drive development and publication of recurring and special research publications.
• Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering learning and development.
