Job summary

Codexis, Inc. is seeking an Associate Director of Strategic Program Management in Redwood City, CA. This role leads cross-functional R&D programs and customer initiatives, delivering on scope, milestones, and budgets with disciplined execution.

You will partner with program leads and stakeholders to define scope, manage timelines, risks, and decisions, and drive continuous improvement across the SPM operating model.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of 10–12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead SPM execution for cross-functional R&D programs, corporate initiatives, and ECO Synthesis customer programs from scope to delivery.
• Create and maintain standardized program infrastructure (Smartsheet timelines, dashboards, logs, and action trackers).
• Build strong relationships with internal departments to coordinate priorities and plan resources and schedules.
• Support customer programs from planning through completion by coordinating internal and client-facing meetings and escalating changes and risks.
• Prepare clear, decision-oriented program documentation for governance forums and leadership meetings.
• Facilitate escalation through governance pathways when decisions impact timelines, budgets, or cross-functional alignment.
• Contribute to design and continuous improvement of SPM processes, templates, metrics, and ways of working.
• Support retrospective reviews to identify opportunities to improve speed, communication, and outcomes.
