Job summary

The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington seeks a seasoned Director of Events and Engagement to lead its events portfolio, including signature community gatherings and donor experiences. You will work closely with executive leadership to design programs that support fundraising, engagement, and strategic priorities.

With 7+ years of experience in events or engagement, you will build scalable systems, mentor a growing team, and drive excellence across Federation-wide events in a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead complex events from concept to execution.
• Strong planning, budgeting, and risk management skills.
• Experience collaborating with senior leaders and volunteers.
• Nonprofit or fundraising background preferred.
• Knowledge of Jewish customs or willingness to learn is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, planning, and execution of signature events and donor experiences.
• Personally oversee high-profile events from concept to delivery.
• Develop event concepts, content, speaker prep, and participant experiences.
• Collaborate with executives, speakers, and volunteers to align programs with goals.
• Improve events through feedback, outcomes, and best practices.
• Coordinate annual event planning for alignment across departments.
