Job Description

The Director of Statistics provides scientific and statistical leadership for clinical development projects, collaborating with clinical and regulatory teams to advance medicines to patients.

This role offers a hybrid work schedule, working 3 days a week at one of the following locations:

• South San Francisco, CA
• Lake County, IL

Responsibilities:

• Lead statistical support for clinical projects, developing strategies for development and regulatory submissions.
• Provide leadership in design, analysis, and reporting of scientific research programs, including protocols and analysis plans.
• Represent the statistical function on project teams, collaborating with various functions to align development strategies.
• Apply advanced statistical concepts and propose innovative methodologies.
• Oversee database activities in collaboration with Data Sciences and other stakeholders.
• Mentor staff and supervise contract statisticians, fostering professional growth.
• Develop data presentation strategies, ensure accurate reporting, and collaborate on scientific publications.
• Act as liaison for statistical issues with external partners and regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance and validation of software.

Significant Work Activities include prolonged sitting (more than 2 hours).

Qualifications

• MS (12+ years) or PhD (8+ years) in Statistics, Biostatistics, or related field.
• Strong technical and communication skills.
• Ability to identify issues and develop solutions.
• Strong leadership and cross-cultural management experience.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry and drug development processes.
