Description: Work directly under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent for Special Education, assume a leadership role in coordinating and supervising instructional supports and related services for students served under the auspices of special education in Katy ISD. With limited supervision, interpret laws, rules and regulations to students, parents, and staff; assist in recruiting, selecting, and evaluating staff; assist in preparation of departmental budgets, Due Process and State Compliance Reviews; and prepare reports for federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in administration and/or special education
  2. Texas professional certificate
  3. Campus administrative experience preferred
  4. Three years successful campus and/or district administrative experience
  5. Extensive knowledge in the principles of public school administration, administrative methods and techniques, and current trends in special education
  6. Ability to supervise the work of others
  7. Ability to work cooperatively as a member of an inter-departmental team
