Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Director Sourcing & Procurement in San Francisco to lead a proactive direct-sourcing function for power generation equipment. You will partner with finance, operations, legal, and business stakeholders to negotiate terms, manage vendors, and support cost discipline in a regulated financial services environment. Location: San Francisco, CA.

Compensation: $200,000 – $220,000 annually. This role emphasizes supplier performance, EPC delivery familiarity, and building procurement

Qualifications

• 10–12 years in power generation, storage, or infrastructure engineering and procurement.
• Direct negotiation experience and strong vendor management.
• Experience sourcing capital equipment, especially power generation equipment.
• Familiarity with EPC delivery models and equipment arrangements.
• Background in building procurement functions from ground up.

For our client, we are seeking a Director Sourcing & Procurement to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will manage sourcing and supplier priorities that improve value, reliability, and operational performance. You will partner with finance, operations, legal, and business stakeholders to negotiate effectively, manage vendors, and support better purchasing decisions. The position offers the opportunity to improve cost discipline, supplier performance, and the processes that support scalable execution within a regulated financial services environment.

Location: San Francisco, CA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $200,000 – $220,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of a proactive direct-sourcing procurement function
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive vendor list for power generation equipment
• Evaluate equipment options with cross-functional teams for fit and risk
• Cultivate direct relationships with OEMs and reduce reliance on intermediaries
• Negotiate pricing and terms directly with manufacturers
• Support project teams from initiation through equipment delivery
• Formalize procurement processes and policies for enhanced control

Qualifications

• 10-12 years in power generation, storage, or infrastructure engineering and procurement
• Comfortable in entrepreneurial, less-structured settings and skilled in direct negotiation
• Direct experience in sourcing capital equipment, especially power generation equipment
• Experience in rotating-equipment markets like gas turbines and fuel cells
• Technical knowledge needed to assess equipment application and performance
• Familiarity with EPC delivery models and equipment arrangements
• Background in building procurement functions from ground up
