Fidelity Investments seeks a Director of Software Engineering to lead the development and management of enterprise financial applications using Go, Java, and AWS. You will drive architectural decisions, participate in cross-functional teams, and mentor multiple engineering groups in delivering strategic technology initiatives.
The role emphasizes cloud-native practices, CI/CD, and guidance on technical strategy across divisions, with onsite work as part of Fidelity’s evolving model.
Job Description:

Develops, builds, and manages market data products, Real-Time Pricing, and H&A product suites on cloud, including Amazon Web Services (AWS). Conducts code reviews and code merges. Builds software applications using infrastructure automation tools -- Splunk, Jenkins, Artifactory, and ServiceNow. Develops complex or multiple software applications and conducts studies of alternatives to translate divisional initiatives into business solutions. Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business or function to provide business unit-wide solutions by developing complex, multi-faceted software applications. Researches and recommends new technologies in support of the strategic direction of the business unit and participates in the research and recommendation of appropriate models, methods, tools, and technologies to achieve business-unit-wide solutions.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Software Engineering (or closely related occupation) developing enterprise financial applications using Go, Java, and AWS.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Software Engineering (or closely related occupation) developing enterprise financial applications using Go, Java, and AWS.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues.
