Director, Social & Communications

This role is specific to the current Coffee Operating Unit of KDP. Following the recent, successful acquisition of JDE Peet’s in April 2026, the Coffee Operating Unit will become its own independent publicly traded company. For more information on this, please visit keurigdrpepper.com

The Director, Social & Communications will be responsible for driving consumer share of mind and elevating the love of the Coffee Operating Unit’s North American brands through a cohesive, insights-driven strategy that unifies organic social execution, culture/influencer marketing, public relations and social intelligence.

An effective, integrated social function will bring together social (content, community management, creator/talent) and communications (brand public relations) to drive earned and social conversation and build brand love among fans and consumers. This role also includes the use of social intelligence to identify content opportunity areas, nurturing existing fans and recruiting new fans.

As a senior leader, you will oversee long-term planning, team leadership, agency management, and cross-functional collaboration across Brand Marketing, Communications, Media, Insights, Legal, and external partners. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of experience leading social, communications, and consumer engagement programs for large consumer brands and has a proven track record of building teams and delivering business results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure alignment between social, PR, media, partnerships, and marketing initiatives
  • Partner with Media leadership to develop holistic strategies and recommend spend allocations into content, community engagement, creator and comms/PR channels while connecting social strategy to applicable aspects of the business, ensuring consistency in mechanisms of communication across brands and with corporate communications
  • Develop and maintain all governance and process mechanisms so that there are consistent ways of working and aligned processes across all North American brands and teams
  • Determine the internal vs external team and agencies, creators and partners structures and ways of working
  • Select, own relationships and maintain scopes and management with external agencies, creators and partners
  • Lead the development of annual, multi-year, and campaign-specific plans for social media, creator marketing, community engagement, and brand communications
  • Oversee the development & ongoing management of the annual content calendar at the portfolio level, ensuring alignment with key brand initiatives, product launches, and seasonal campaigns
  • Establish content frameworks, editorial priorities, and channel strategies.
  • Lead the creation of engaging, strategic, and data-driven content across social media platforms
  • Create efficient content creation processes and work with agency partners to optimize content engine
  • Use audience insights, social listening, and performance data to guide content decisions.
  • Evaluate content performance and recommend ongoing improvements.
  • Lead proactive and reactive community management and engagement strategies across social channels
  • Establish processes for moderation, escalation management, and consumer response.
  • Partner with social listening and insights teams to identify trends, consumer feedback, and potential risks.
  • Work strategically and collaboratively with cross-functional teams across paid media and other parts of the organization as well as agency partners to optimize content for search engines (paid search, social search, agentic search)
  • Oversee engagement plans for campaigns, launches, partnerships, and key brand moments.
  • Monitor sentiment and community performance to inform brand and communications strategies
  • Lead creator and influencer strategy across priority brands.
  • Develop annual creator plans that support business and marketing objectives.
  • Oversee creator selection, negotiations, contracting, and performance measurement.
  • Manage relationships with creators, agencies, and talent partners.
  • Integrate creator programs into broader marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness through engagement, brand, and business performance metrics.
  • Oversee portfolio-level influencer and PR strategy that amplifies company and brand growth, builds lasting partnerships, and delivers measurable outcomes
  • Monitor and analyze cultural and entertainment trends, in coordination with social intelligence, to inform marketing strategies and identify opportunities for brand engagement and partnerships
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with key media partners, creators, influencers, artists, cultural icons, and entertainment partners, including film studios, television networks, musicians, gaming, and streaming platform
  • Manage the end-to-end operations of influencer/content creators/talent and integration into marketing campaigns, ensuring brand consistency, integrity, and alignment across all culture and entertainment marketing activities
  • Oversee social intelligence function that uses panoramic listening across social, search, behavioral, and emotional signals to answer key business questions and contribute to content strategy (e.g., inclusive of video, memes, etc.) and identify potential brand reputational risks
  • Closely monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities, including the identification of white spaces to illuminate the portfolio-level and brand-level messages
  • Use audience lexicon + competitor voice + influential voices to determine where the Coffee Operating Unit brands can meaningfully and authentically participate in timely, cultural moments
  • Use audience, community, and content insights for cross-channel and cross-platform planning
  • Track, analyze, and report on KPIs to monitor performance and ensure metrics are used to make data-driven decisions
  • Lead, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of professionals
  • Work closely and collaboratively with other marketing and brand teams to extend social reach and determine balance between organic and paid promotion
  • Track social and content to overall business goals, budget, and resources

Total Rewards:
  • Salary Range: $155,500 - $ 220,000
  • Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors
  • Benefits, subject to election and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Paid Time Off (including paid parental leave, vacation, and sick time), 401k with company match, Tuition Reimbursement, and Mileage Reimbursement
  • Annual bonus based on performance and eligibility
Requirements:
  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree. An MBA is preferred, but not required
  • 10+ years of social /influencer/PR experience with 5+ years in people management and leadership.
  • Experience with key social channels, including Meta, Pinterest and TikTok
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions and develop actionable recommendations
  • Experience leading social and cultural marketing teams and managing the full lifecycle of a brand experience
  • Commercially and creatively minded
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well alone as well as with different departments across the business
  • Process driven and demonstrated ability to deliver in a timely manner
