Job summary

Aeva is seeking a senior photonics lead to drive silicon photonics development across AI data centers, automotive and industrial markets. You will own tape-out scoping, DFMEA, and reliability plans, coordinating with architecture, fab and cross-functional teams to deliver on tight timelines.

The role requires 5+ years leading photonics design, experience with foundries, and strong expertise in optical simulations and high-volume qualification.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading design teams delivering products.
• Experience designing photonics devices for foundries.
• Designing complex photonics circuits with system constraints.
• Fully experienced in design, tape-out and test cycles.
• Knowledge of back reflection and stray light management.
• Proficient in optical simulation software for evaluating designs.
• Experience qualifying high-volume photonics components.

Responsibilities

• Lead design team to deliver silicon photonics across multiple verticals.
• Collaborate with architecture, fab and cross-functional design teams to meet timelines.
• Own scoping of tapeouts to balance milestones and product timelines.
• Own DFMEA of silicon photonics for product lines.
• Understand fab process to account for design-process interactions.
• Own characterization of silicon photonics tapeouts with test plans.
• Work with test team to define characterization for new devices.
