TEC Equipment features Mack and Volvo heavy-duty trucks, Hino and Isuzu medium duty trucks, Wabash trailers, and Cottrell auto transport trailers. We offer a large inventory of new Mack and Volvo trucks and all makes of used trucks. Our services include quality parts, state-of-the-art service, collision centers, fuel, leasing/rental, financing, and insurance. Our locations are authorized service centers for Mack, Volvo, Cummins, Meritor, Eaton, and Fuller warranties, providing comprehensive trucking solutions.

Overview

The Director of Service oversees branch service operations and regional service growth to achieve revenue and profitability targets. This leadership role manages profit and loss, leads people, and formulates strategies, embodying TEC's core values of Teamwork, Entrepreneurship, and Customer Focus.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify revenue growth opportunities through market intelligence, customer feedback, and industry best practices, focusing on Volvo and All Makes service programs.
  • Develop and implement annual operating plans for service, setting milestones for growth and profitability.
  • Engage with customers to craft industry-leading after-sales solutions, ensuring excellent customer experiences and fostering repeat business.
  • Lead and motivate branch service teams, supporting growth initiatives.
  • Communicate strategies and empower team members to contribute effectively.
Responsibilities
  • Promote understanding of the company's Vision, Mission, and Values among employees and customers, fostering a passionate and accountable work environment.
  • Analyze market trends and customer segments to identify growth opportunities, utilizing tools like RigDig and Polk.
  • Focus on enhancing the end-to-end customer and after-sales experience with continuous improvement measures.
  • Define and communicate the Profit Model for service revenue streams to regional managers.
  • Review monthly operating results, identify root causes, and implement action plans for improvement.
  • Participate in the annual Business Plan process, setting growth targets and coaching managers.
  • Manage business activities' impact on working capital and financial metrics.
  • Travel to satellite locations and customer sites to build relationships and support growth.
  • Ensure branding and facilities uphold company standards.
  • Create an inspiring work environment, exemplify excellent customer service, and manage employee performance effectively.
  • Implement cost controls across purchasing and personnel functions.
  • Evaluate workflows within service operations for profitability and scalability.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant working environment, collaborating with safety personnel.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, finance, or related fields; equivalent experience acceptable.
  • At least 7+ years of management experience with direct reports, success in developing operational plans and strategies.
  • Experience managing P&L statements and profitability drivers.
  • Experience managing workforce and managers preferred.
  • Knowledge of Class 8 Truck, Trailer, and heavy equipment services.
  • Proficient with software including CDK, Microsoft Office, and quick learner of new applications.
  • Experience in heavy equipment dealership service preferred.
  • Results-driven, self-motivated, solutions-oriented.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% for business needs.
