Job summary

Applied Materials seeks a highly skilled, experienced attorney to support IP licensing, joint development and collaboration agreements, IP acquisitions and divestitures, and other complex transactions. This Director-level role reports to a Senior Director in the Legal and Compliance Organization in Santa Clara, CA.

The candidate must have a JD from an accredited law school with 10+ years of IP licensing experience, including patent licensing, and be licensed to practice in California.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• 10+ years of IP licensing and complex transactions experience.
• Deep understanding of contract terms relating to technology and IP rights.
• Licensed to practice law in California.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide business and legal advice to business stakeholders.
• Frame, draft and negotiate IP, commercial, and complex transactions including licensing and joint development agreements.
• Counsel business/sales teams on contract provisions and risk.
• Partner with other Legal & Compliance groups to deliver support.
• Manage outside counsel work product and budgets.
• Participate in process and technology projects to improve service and efficiency.
