Immunic Therapeutics in Boston is seeking a Senior Director, Communications to lead the corporate communications function during a transformational period. As the company’s senior communications leader, you will develop and execute an integrated strategy that strengthens Immunic’s reputation and elevates awareness of its pipeline and science among external and internal audiences.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive communications experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences.
  • Experience leading corporate communications for a biotechnology or pharmaceutical organization, business unit, or major therapeutic area.
  • Strong experience communicating clinical data, scientific developments, and regulatory milestones to external audiences, with established media relationships.
  • Experience supporting major corporate or product milestones, including late-stage data readouts, regulatory submissions, or product launches.
  • Exceptional writing and executive-presence skills, with proven ability to advise and build credibility with senior leaders.
  • Experience in neurology, multiple sclerosis, immunology, or specialty pharmaceuticals is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Immunic's integrated corporate communications strategy, serving as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team on positioning, reputation, and external engagement.
  • Develop and continuously evolve Immunic's corporate narrative and messaging architecture across audiences and channels.
  • Develop and execute a proactive media relations strategy, serving as primary company contact for media and leading communications around clinical data, congresses, and corporate milestones.
  • Partner closely with Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Investor Relations, and Commercial to translate complex scientific and clinical information into clear, compelling communications.
  • Serve as a strategic communications advisor to executives, developing executive and thought‑leadership platforms, speeches, and high‑profile external engagement materials.
  • Partner with the team to drive Immunic's digital and social communications strategy, including the corporate website and an integrated editorial/content strategy.
  • Help ensure patient perspectives are authentically and compliantly reflected throughout Immunic's communications and storytelling.
  • Develop and oversee an internal communications strategy, partnering with leadership and HR on town halls, announcements, and employee engagement.
  • Build and maintain proactive issues‑management and crisis‑communications capabilities, including scenario plans and escalation processes.
  • Build the communications infrastructure, agencies, budgets, and KPIs needed to support Immunic as it grows toward a potential commercial‑stage organization.

SUMMARY

We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Senior Director, Communications to lead the company's corporate communications function during a transformational period in Immunic's evolution. As the company's most senior communications leader, this individual will develop and execute an integrated communications strategy that strengthens Immunic's reputation, elevates awareness of the company and its pipeline, and clearly communicates the potential of its science to key external and internal audiences. Reporting to the VP, Patient Advocacy & Corporate Communications, this leader will serve as a trusted communications advisor to senior leadership, translate complex scientific and business developments into clear, differentiated communications, and help prepare Immunic for major clinical, regulatory, corporate, and potential commercial milestones.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, business, or life sciences required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive communications experience, with significant experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences.
  • Demonstrated experience leading corporate communications for a biotechnology or pharmaceutical organization, business unit, or major therapeutic area.
  • Strong experience communicating clinical data, scientific developments, and regulatory milestones to external audiences, with established media relationships.
