Job summary

CLS Group in New Jersey is seeking a Director-level leader to shape and govern the organisation's cyber security strategy. You will collaborate with security, technology and business stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive, future‑proof strategy and to prioritise security initiatives across the enterprise.

You will own the transformation portfolio roadmap, manage financials, build business cases and mobilise initiatives, delivering measurable security outcomes for a complex, regulated environment.

Overview of the role:

As a result of the growth and restructure of IT Security in CLS, we are recruiting a key new Director position to lead the development and ongoing management of the cyber strategy for the organisation. This will involve working extensively with security, technology and business stakeholders, as well as external advisors, to ensure the security strategy is comprehensive and future-proofs our cyber defences against emerging cyber threats.

Furthermore, to use the strategy to develop and manage the security transformation portfolio roadmap, ensuring initiatives are prioritised, developed and mobilised. This will require both portfolio level planning and financial management, as well as developing business cases and mobilising new initiatives.

The successful candidate will preferably have extensive financial services and / or cyber security senior management experience, with a demonstrable background in developing and maintaining enterprise level strategies in this respect. Furthermore, experience in the successful management of large-scale security transformation portfolios, taking initiatives from concept through to delivery.

What you will be doing:

• Leading the development, update and refresh of the CLS IT security strategy
• Working with key stakeholders across the organisation to ensure the security strategy reflects business priorities
• Translating the strategy into an actionable security transformation roadmap
• Creating and managing a security transformation portfolio, ensuring priorities are continuously reviewed and updated
• Conducting the necessary planning and financial management of the overall security portfolio
• Playing a leadership role in ensuring the effective mobilisation of prioritised new initiatives, including business case definition
• Working closely with the project delivery leadership and team, to ensure projects and programs are scoped and planned to meet strategic roadmap commitments
• Creating and managing relevant metrics and governance to ensure overall security strategy goals are realised
• Playing an active leadership role in the development of security strategy deliverables and artefacts for executive committees and boards

What we are looking for:

• Extensive senior management experience in cyber security in a consulting and / or financial services environment
• Demonstrable experience in leading the development and management of IT security strategies
• Track record of delivering major cyber security transformation portfolios
• Somebody who brings extensive experience and knowledge of how emerging technologies impact defence and attack considerations for cyber security
• Experience of operating in a heavily regulated environment
• Highly collaborative mindset, with the ability to work constructively with security, technology and business stakeholders of all levels
