Job summary

AM General is seeking a seasoned Supply Chain professional to support and optimize procurement and supplier management. The role focuses on developing metrics, managing risk, and driving process improvements within a federal-regulated procurement environment.

The position emphasizes collaboration across teams, strong leadership, and the ability to work independently with high accuracy. Remote work is considered; up to 25% travel may be required.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree is required for this position.
• Master’s degree is preferred along with 10+ years total experience and 5–10 years supervisory experience.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with procurements subject to federal procurement regulations.
• Proficient with MS Office products.
• High initiative with ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
• Independent worker with accuracy and quality control.
• Strong problem solving and leadership abilities.
• Moderate level of SAP or related ERP system experience.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support systems that affect Supply Chain processes

PHYSICAL EFFORT

• Hearing: must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicate

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Physical Location: Remote work will be considered for this position. The position operates in an office environment
• Teamwork: This position will work with others to ensure efficiency in the workplace
• Listening Skills: This position will need to understand how to use machinery properly and safely to prevent accidents and ensure all tasks are completed accurately
• Ability to follow instructions: Managers assign tasks and responsibilities, which vary; this position should be able to follow instructions competently

• Concentration: This position may perform the same or similar tasks repeatedly, so a strong level of concentration when carrying out these tasks is important for quality control purposes. This role is often fast paced, so being able to maintain focus at all times is important
