Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - or equivalent work experience.
• 15+ years of software development experience.
• 10+ years of managing a team.
• 5+ years of managing managers.
• Experience building and running highly available, large-scale, distributed systems - externally facing product or service.
• Proven ability to lead across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end technical strategy and roadmap for a critical domain within AWS Network Engineering.
• Lead and grow a high-performing engineering organization of engineers across multiple locations, building a culture of operational excellence, innovation, and customer obsession.
• Drive architectural decisions for highly available, large-scale distributed systems that serve millions of customers globally.
• Partner cross-functionally with hardware engineering, network operations, product management, and science teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Establish and maintain the highest standards for system reliability, performance, security, and cost efficiency.
• Drive operational excellence including on-call culture, incident response, and continuous improvement of availability metrics.
